Yikes, from the sounds of it this pupper pawrent was not looking for a pupper for her parents at all. Because when you go after a slightly special dog, they feel right because all their quirks suit you. Which is to say that quirks are a very personal thing and the quirks that might suit you, will be very much unsuitable for someone else. Meaning that while this woman was very excited for this down on its luck pupper to go to her parents, there was very little chance that they would see the same potential the she did.

And so it begins. These first few hurdles are so tough to get over, but also so important for the bonding of a pawrent to their new pupper. All the more explaining how it came to be that this woman and her partner would end up adopting the doggo rather than her parents. Her parents did not go through the trials and tribulations of getting the dip off the poor doggo. They did not spend time in the bathtub scrubbing away. All they were hoping for was a chill companion to fill their home with who would keep them company in their sunset years. Not a pupper project to keep them busy.
